Legacy Filmworks, with Director Mike Gunther at the helm,
has begun filming “Beatdown”, an Action/Drama with Mixed Martial Arts
(MMA)-style fighting. Gunther brings his experience as an accomplished
stunt coordinator to the director’s chair for this film—a great asset for
this action-rich story.

The film stars Rudy Youngblood (“Apocalypto”) as Brandon, a young street
fighter, who has fallen out of favor with the mob and is forced to fight
for those close to him.  “Beatdown” also stars
Danny Trejo (“Desperado”, “Machete”) as "Marcus"
 Bobby Lashley as "Lucius"
MMA fighter Michael “The Count” Bisping as "Drake"
Eric Balfour (“The Texas Chainsaw Masacre”, “Hellride”) as "Victor"
Susie Abromeit, Jeff Gibbs, Richard Nance, Kyle Woods
 Luis A. Olmeda and Jimmy Gonzales.

Grindstone, in association with MovieSet.com, organized a video contest
for young MMA fighters.  Contestants submitted video clips of their best MMA moves,
to win a free trip to Austin and a walk-on role in “Beatdown”.  The winner,
Kevin Mattson, was on location Friday, December 11, to appear in the
biggest fight scene of the film.
